The effects of current on health depend on several factors:

  1. The current intensity.
  2. The human body resistance to current flow.
  3. The time during which someone is in contact with electricity.
  4. The path followed by the electrical current through the body

Living beings are conductors of electric current. Exposure with live wires or defective devices, the possibility of current flowing through the human body increases dangerously. This is known as the risk of electrocution.

For this to happen, the human body must:

  1. Be a good driver.
  2. Be part of an electrical circuit.
  3. Be subject to a hazardous voltage.

Among the effects that the electric current produces in the human body, we can find: cardiovascular effects, internal burns, external burns, respiratory arrest and choking among others.
